Time and time again I hear people say they don’t like to read but they like to write. This blows my mind for a few reasons. The first being that how can you not enjoy reading? Reading is so much easier than writing! Writing requires thought. Reading is mindless; you can transport yourself into another world without having to make it up yourself. Then there’s the fact that your writing can’t get better unless you read a lot. Sure, the more you write the better you are, but if you don’t also read, you can’t learn what makes novels tick. By reading you make it so you’re able to tell the different between good and bad writing.
