I teamed up with the amazing Kaila Walker for this weeks video to answer the question: why is vacation important for writers? Is there something behind traveling that opens up writer’s to a whole new world? Is vacation the magic cure to writer’s block? Well, maybe not, but there are benefits to taking the time to experience everything life has to offer.

We’re talking about beta readers again! Last week’s video was all about how to find and choose beta readers, so this week is part 2 and I’m talking about how to work with your beta readers to improve your novel. This means taking their criticism, deciding what’s right and what’s not and ultimately getting your novel to the next level. Watch the video!

As an author, your biggest hope is to get a lot of book reviews, hopefully, five-star book reviews. But what do you do when those five-star reviews turn into three-star and maybe even one-star reviews? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be talking about in today’s video. Watch and if you have any other words of advice, leave them in the comments below!
This year will be my second year attending BookCon and I’m so excited because last year I only went one day and this year I’ll be there for both days. That means more books and more fun! Last year I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but this year I’m ready and I’ve learned from my mistakes so I’m here with tips that I wish I had when I went to BookCon last year.
Today I have some really exciting news about my third novel, She’s Not Here, but before I get into that, there are a few other things I wanted to talk about. Mainly, why I’m choosing to self-publish my third novel. Watch the video for all the details!
Have you seen the Avengers: Infinity War? Because I have and I need to talk about it. But I’m not doing a review of the movie Instead, I wanted to talk about it in the viewpoint of a story-teller and why this movie has done everything right. Before I go any further I do have to warn you that many spoilers lie ahead, so don’t read on if you haven’t seen the movie yet because this is not a movie you want to have spoiled.
What do I even say? It’s hard to render a writer speechless but I don’t know how to sum up this past weekend with justice.
Let’s start with this: here’s my vlog!
I miss these girls so much already. Never in my life have I been surrounded by such like-minded people, people I was afraid to say goodbye to. All of us have so much ahead of us in our futures so be sure to subscribe to everyone’s channels and show the love!
I hope every author out there knows what I’m talking about. Writing and supporting yourself as an author is something that is very hard to do. For myself, I have doubts every day. Am I doing the right thing? Should I give up now and find something else to do? To put it simply, I’m terrified. It’s hard to keep up with everything. Heck, I have no idea when I’m going to finish writing book number three. I also don’t know when I’m going to sell those hundred copies of books in my car. With college and a job, it’s a lot. I just hope if you feel the same way, that this video makes you feel less alone. We just have to keep moving forward!
