We all like to play the comparison game. Instead of concentrating on what we’re doing and the successes we’re creating for ourselves, we get distracted by what others are doing and how they’re doing it better than us. In today’s video, I’m opening up about how I used to compare myself to other writers and how it distracted me from achieving my own goals.
As an author, your biggest hope is to get a lot of book reviews, hopefully, five-star book reviews. But what do you do when those five-star reviews turn into three-star and maybe even one-star reviews? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be talking about in today’s video. For those of you who didn’t know, my debut novel, Essence, was published when I was seventeen. Being published at a young age is an amazing experience, but it comes with a lot of ups and downs.
